SECURING YOUR COTTAGE FOR THE SEASON

With the end of cottage season approaching Northeastern police units are advising the public to make cottages less attractive and appealing to thieves. Inspector Michael Pilon with the James Bay Detachment says one way to minimize the risk of break-ins is to avoid leaving valuable items out in plain sight.  The OPP is also reminding residents to always remove firearms and alcohol when the cottage is closed for the season. Police say an alarm system is something that cottage owners should consider to prevent thieves from trying to break in.  Go HERE for more tips on securing your cottage.
