The Cochrane Fire Department is challenging residents to take part in the ‘Don’t Wait, Check the Date’ selfie challenge. This week is fire prevention week so the local fire department has challenged everyone to take a selfie of their family checking the expiry date on the smoke alarms and post it to social media. The fire chief Richard Vallee says while some smoke alarms can last up to ten years, others may have a different time frame. The Cochrane Fire Department will be having an open house at the Fire Hall this Saturday from ten in the morning until one in the afternoon in support of Fire Prevention Week and this year’s campaign.
