When a polar bear cub wandered into Attiwapiskat, the Nishnawbe-Aski Police Service had to work with the community to capture and release it. One of the responding officers, Constable Justin Ruffo says the community played an important role helping police. Ruffo says the cub put up quite the fight but eventually they were able to find a way to bring it in.  Ruffo says there is a happy ending to this story. Later that day there was reports of a full grown polar bear wandering around the outskirts of the community. Ruffo says several days after the cub was released they saw the full grown bear and cub walking together.
