FALL SEAT BELT CAMPAIGN

The OPP is in the middle of their fall seat belt safety campaign. Over the past five years almost 350 unbuckled drivers and passengers have been killed in the province. Inspector Michael Pilon with the James Bay Detachment says not wearing your seat belt, no matter what speed you’re travelling is dangerous.  Pilon says that as a driver it’s your responsibility to ensure the safety of your passengers and that everyone buckles up. Police reports show that men are up to three times more likely to be involved in a seat belt related fatality.
