The Cochrane Crunch take on the Rayside Balfour Canadians tonight at the Tim Horton Event Centre; game time 7:30.

The Toronto Blue Jays beat the Los Angeles Angels 7-2 last night. Josh Donaldson was back in the line up and went 3 for 3 with two doubles and scored two runs while  Russell Martin hit a three-run homer. Toronto is now tied with Baltimore for the two AL wild cards, two games behind East-leading Boston.

The Buffalo Bills are 0 and 2 to start the NFL season. In last night’s Thursday nighter the Bills lost 37-31 to the New York Jets. The Bills’ defence showed cracks against the Jets allowing 493 yards of offence and 28 first downs.

Canada now has 7 gold medals at the Rio Paralympics after Aur’lie Rivard, smashed the world record in the women’s 400 free S10 to win her third gold of the Games. Other winners yesterday were Benoit Huot claiming bronze in the men’s 400-metre freestyle S10, Brent Lakatos won bronze in the men’s 800 T53 final and Charles Moreau earned bronze in the men’s H3 road race.
