FETAL ALCOHOL SPECTRUM DISORDER AWARENESS DAY

Landmark Health reminds you that tomorrow (September 9th) is Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorder awareness day.  FASD can result when a pregnant woman consumes alcohol.   Landmark says no amount of alcohol is safe for an unborn baby and mothers should refrain from imbibing until after the child is born.  FASD manifests in a variety of ways – some more severe than others depending on the nature of the brain damage.   Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorder is often associated with certain notable physical features.  Landmark encourages members of the public to educate themselves about FASD so that we can all be more understanding and compassionate toward those suffering with it.
