Northeastern OPP units are raising awareness about boating safety ahead of the Labour Day long weekend. Police say to ensure all safety equipment is on board your boat, which includes lifejackets, waterproof flashlights, and a bailing bucket. The OPP also notes drinking and boating carries the same penalties as drinking and driving.
