The International Mine Rescue Competition is underway in northern Ontario. Thirteen countries are at the international event, which is in Sudbury. This is the first time ever that it’s taking place in Canada since its inception in 1998. In total, 28 mine rescue teams are taking part. They’ll be involved in simulated underground emergencies, firefighting scenarios and there’s also a high-angle rope rescue. The competition runs till Friday.
