North Bay has officially submitted a bid to host the Ford World Women’s Curling championship for 2018. Curling Canada will render a decision by the end of August. Co-chair of the organizing committee, Rick Miller, is optimistic the city will be awarded the international event. If it does, city councillor Mark King says the world championship will generate six to eight million dollars in economic activity for North Bay.
