Cochrane served as the hub for the NeCN’s Annual General Meeting to discuss economic development in northern Ontario. Kapuskasing’s Economic Development Officer Andre Robichaud says working collaboratively as a region is key to moving forward. Robichaud says having Indigenous communities at the table is a competitive edge and partnerships, like the Mining Readiness Strategy between Hearst and Constance Lake, provide an advantage to northern communities.
