The Toronto Blue Jays beat the Arizona Diamondbacks 5-2 yesterday to end a three-game losing skid. Russell Martin, Edwin Encarnacion and Troy Tulowitzki homered for the Jays.

The NHL announced yesterday that they will expand to Las Vegas for the 2017-18 season. Meanwhile Chicago Blackhawks forward Patrick Kane won the Hart Trophy as league MVP and the Ted Lindsay Award as most valuable as voted by his peers at the NHL Awards last night. LA Kings Drew Doughty won the Norris Trophy as the league’s top defenceman, and Chicago Blackhawks forward Artemi Panarin won the Calder Trophy as the NHL’s rookie of the year.

In Euro 2016 action yesterday Hungary and Portugal played to a 3 all tie, the Republic of Ireland shut out Italy 1-0, Iceland edged Austria 2-1, and Belgium beat Sweden 1-0.
