Canadian Blood Services will be back in the area on June 21 st and 22 nd in Timmins. CBS put out a call earlier this year for donors as it’s been struggling to meet its northern targets. Timmins serves as the hub for the area once a month, hoping to draw in more donors from rural communities. While all donors are needed, CBS says type-O donors are vital in emergency situations as they are universal donors. In this year alone 100,000 new donors will be needed and over 10,000 of those will need to be O-negative. The drive will be held at St. Dominque Hall.
