ANNUAL F.O.N.O.M. CONFERENCE WRAPS UP

The annual FONOM conference wraps up in Timmins today.  Many high ranking politicians were in town this week to give speeches and hear about issues that affect northern Ontario, including Premier Kathleen Wynne and both opposition leaders.  Mayor Steve Black says there is both a tourism and a political benefit to hosting the conference.  He says the Connecting Link was a topic of conversation throughout the week.  Black says they also talked about rail infrastructure, and how it is a critical link to northern Ontario.  He says this conference will help to show the province they need to commit long term to main railways in the north.
