FACE TO FACE AT LAST

The Cochrane Polar Bear Habitat after months of preparation has finally introduced its two residents, Henry and Ganuk, to each other.  Manager of the habitat Karen Cummings says the facility had all hands on deck preparing for the worst case scenario just in case the two polar bears didn’t get along.  Timmins Animal Hospital, staff and even world renowned Animal Behaviourist JoAnne Simerson were a part of the meeting.  Cummings says fortunately none of the emergency measures were needed as the 900 and 700-pound new room-mates got along almost immediately.  The bears will be spending more time together progressively as the lake enclosure is now open in the facility.  The new enclosure makes the habitat the largest of its kind in the world.
