Hydro One is sharing information on how to keep up-to-date during power outages over Emergency Preparedness Week. Hydro One says it employs a priority system, making emergencies like fires or downed lines its top priority while constantly updating outage maps and social media. Often, when the power is out, cellular towers will continue to function giving anyone with a charged mobile device the ability to stay updated. It says the Ontario Grid Control Centre is the hub for all information coming in and going out for the utilities company in the event of outages.
