NewsSTEELWORKERS CHIME IN ON DETOUR DEATH SHARE ON: Tim Rout, staff Wednesday, Apr. 27th, 2016The United Steelworkers say it’s not enough that police charged Detour Gold after the death of one of its workers near Cochrane. The union says corporate executives and directors should also be charged. The union’s national director Ken Neumann says for the most part police either aren’t trained or directed to lay charges beyond a company. Detour was charged last Thursday for criminal negligence causing death. Fifty-two-year-old Denis Millette of Matheson died while working on equipment and an autopsy shows cyanide was the cause of death.
