FONOM says it’s pleased with the new federal budget. It says the $120 billion dedicated to water and wastewater systems, affordable housing and initiatives geared towards fighting climate change are all welcome additions. President of FONOM, Al Spacek says the commitment to both repairing and developing infrastructure (both long term and short term) could benefit northern municipalities greatly. This comes as neither the Ring of Fire or the restoration of FedNor’s funding were in the budget.
