Kapuskasing played host to an event with the goal of fostering greater cooperation and partnership between northern and First Nations communities. The town’s Civic Centre hosted the first Aboriginal Economic Development Forum yesterday. Aside from its main goals, the event is an introduction for the communities to interact in a non-formal setting. Grand Chief of the Mushkegowuk Council, Johnathan Soloman, says collaboration between municipalities and First Nations is crucial. Soloman says that economic development in First Nations, helps everyone. Four First Nations and nine municipalities attended this landmark event.
