Canada is in a five-way tie for first at the World Women’s Curling Championship. The Chelsea Carey rink got back into the victory column with a win against Sweden last night after an earlier day loss to Russia. The Russians, Switzerland, Scotland and Japan are tied with Team Canada at 4-1.
The Toronto Maple Leafs got by Calgary 5-2 in the NHL. The teams were the only Canadian clubs in action.
The Cochrane Crunch won Saturday’s game-two against Timmins with a crushing 12-2 score. Game three is tonight in Timmins.
