The Ministry of Health and Long Term Care has the power to restore incentives to doctors and specialists to practice in rural areas. Resolutions are being looked at by many northern Ontario municipalities with many towns, like Cochrane or Iroquois Falls, giving their support. The plan comes from Bluewater and is gaining steam as more northern communities are backing up the recommendation. Cochrane, Kapuskasing, Smooth Rock Falls and Hearst have all reviewed, or will be reviewing the recommendations in upcoming council meetings.
