[NHL] Michael Grabner scored his first goal in 30 games as the Toronto Maple Leafs shut out the Detroit Red Wings 1-0 last night. Meanwhile Pittsburgh beat the Rangers 5-3 and Tampa Bay shut out Columbus 4-0.
[CURLING] Alberta’s Kevin Koe is the Brier Champ. Koe beat Newfoundland and Labrador’s Brad Gushue 9-5  last night to win his third career Tim Hortons Brier title. Northern Ontario’s Brad Jacobs edged  Manitoba’s Mike McEwen 7-6 to win the bronze medal.
