WYNNE LIBERALS HIKE TAXES

Some of Northern Ontario’s biggest polluters are getting a big break from the Ontario Liberals’ carbon reducing program.  It turns out Essar Steel in Sault Ste. Marie and Vale Mine in Sudbury won’t have to pay any special taxes for about four years.  That’s according to Sun-media reports.  However consumers won’t get the same break.  They’re facing a 4.3 cent a litre gas tax and will pay about five dollars more a month for natural gas when the cap and trade program soon takes effect.
