Members of the Kapuskasing Flyers are all smiles after a memorable trip to the James Bay coast late last month.
The Flyers and the Timmins Majors visited Moosonee and Moose Factory to participate in hockey clinics, learn more about the culture and lifestyle of the far north and to play two Great North U18 Hockey League games. Forward Theo Bourdon-Lemoyne says the whole weekend was amazing.
“Playing different sports and do different activities like Broomball and Pickelball as a team and get the Majors with us even though it’s a rivalry,” he said. ” We get to do something cool and play regular season games.”
Forward Lessard says atmosphere for the league games in Moose Factory was outstanding.
“The moment before the game the crowd was just cheering us on the arena was super loud — just the moment the chills that came with it everything was absolutely amazing,” Lessard said.
Several of the players say it was so loud in the arena they couldn’t hear themselves on the ice.
