Police are warning the public about a fresh round of online scams.  The OPP says telephone scams are often easier to detect than online fraud, where ‘click bait’ is attached to social media sites, emails and other webpages, where unsuspecting web-surfers may inadvertently open their computers and other data devices to hackers.  Police say you should be very careful about giving out personal information online, and should have separate passwords for each online banking account.  Investing in security software and a good firewall is also advisable when seeking to circumvent bank fraud and identity theft.
