Saturday is the most anticipated night in Iroquois Falls every year at this time. Beginning at 5:00pm and going until at least 9:30, the annual Christmas telethon will be on stage at the community auditorium.
Entertainment producer Barb Cornthwaite says among new innovations this year is the only evening Christmas market in the area.
“And a lot of those vendors have said that they will donate something for door prizes,” she says. “We like to run door prizes right through the evening, so people that are there are going to be able to claim a little prize, maybe get a deal on something.”
The telethon is being streamed worldwide. Check the Iroquois Falls Christmas Telethon page on Facebook for a link. However, Cornthwaite encourages you to be there in person.
“I’ll tell you, standing in there, sitting there listening to the live music just fill the place is an awesome experience, and awesome feeling of community and to be part of that is something that everybody should be.”
All the money raised during the evening through pledges goes to the Bill Harkins-Eugene Ricard Santa Claus Fund.
