Lunch is waiting for you Wednesday at the Legion on Sixth Ave. in Cochrane, and there is no charge.
A community soup kitchen organized by the Cochrane Food Bank is open from 10:00am until 2:00pm.
Food bank manager Ardis Proulx says it’s also helping with the “Everyone Counts” survey of the homeless population.
“Aside from that,” she continues, “it’s a great way to socialize and get together with your fellow community members, get a nice hot bowl of soup completely free, and just see what’s out there for volunteer opportunities and that as well.”
If you insist, you can make a monetary donation to the food bank or bring a can or two of non-perishable food.
