Cochrane participates again this year in Operation Christmas Child

Operation Christmas Child is back in Cochrane this year.

A project of the international foreign aid organization Samaritan’s Purse, the idea is to pack a shoe box for kids in hot climate and troubled parts of the world.

The leadership head through New Hope Community Church again this year is Kimberly Cox.

She says you can pick up an empty box at Heavener’s Variety and return it by November 28th.

“So you can do some fun toys, school supplies, hygiene items,” says Cox, “but keep in mind not to put in things like liquids or war-related items, anything that might scare a child.”

You’re also asked not to include food or candy.

“If you want to include a personalized letter or photo of your family,” Cox adds, “the child who receives the box would really appreciate it and kind of just know who packed the box for them, and make them feel more special.”
