Monteith Rd. to be closed in area of slope failure for two weeks for repairs

Travelling between Iroquois Falls and Monteith is going to be a longer process for a couple weeks.

Beginning Monday, Monteith Rd. will be closed about 1.5 km north of the village of Monteith. The Town of Iroquois Falls says that’s to allow repairs to the slope failure that occurred in late May, 2022. It’s basically a landslide off the east side of the road.

You can either detour via Kelso Rd. and Moffat Rd., or go the longer way via Hwys. 67 and 11 through Porquis.

The closure’s expected to be in effect from 7:00am this coming Monday, until 5:00pm on Friday, November 1st.
