Iroquois Falls Public Library looking to establish first book clubs since pre-pandemic

The natural place to have book clubs is a library.

The Iroquois Falls Public Library hasn’t had any since before the pandemic.  Now, says assistant librarian Haley Montreuil, there’s a survey to gauge interest. It’s on a couple of Facebook groups, asking about ages and the preferred time and day to meet.  Separate clubs for separate genres of literature are possible, too.

“Right now,” she notes, “we’re just getting a general interest and then beyond that we can get together as a group and figure out what direction we want to go in.”

There’s no hard deadline to respond.

“Most of October, we’ll be collecting stuff, so we can either start in November, December or even the new year.”

Meanwhile, registration is being taken by the library for a chess club. And craft night and game night are back in session.
