Cochrane Food Bank recruiting volunteers

The Help Wanted sign has gone up for the Cochrane Food Bank, as it recruits volunteers.

You can work in the food bank or its thrift store, which supports it financially. Manager Ardis Proulx says training is provided for the myriad of jobs, and age is not a factor. It’s also great for high schoolers to easily put in their 40 hours of community service.

“As well as you can get more additional hours that will help you with work experience,” she points out. “So if you’re looking for a job, it’s really great to say that you’ve worked at a local food bank.”

You can even contribute promotional and community ideas.

“One of our best ideas so far,” Proulx notes, “has been birthday boxes for clients that are in need, and that came from a volunteer.”

You can find out more about being a volunteer on your own terms and your own time, by dropping in to the food bank.
