With a midway coming to Iroquois Falls the week after Labour Day, the municipal events committee is again wrapping the Midway Music Fest around it.
Town councillor and events committee member Jamy Bernier says it’s a step towards having a summer event to match the winter carnival.
“Our goal is to have something for everybody of all ages and we’d love to provide free things, right?” he states. “So we have the festival that will be free during the day, with all local musicians.”
That’s Saturday, September 7th, all in the Curling Club. At night is a ticketed event at $15.00 a person, with three local acts: Claudia Charlebois and Gavin Martin, and the headline act, Mearl and the Flow.
“So Jarvis and Tanner Peever with Taylor Labreche and Uncle Mearl on the the drums,” Bernier explains. “That’s the band that Iroquois Falls has been a lot, but there were a little bit of a hiatus over the last few years, and they’ve got some new stuff they’ve been practicing, and we’re super excited to have them.”
