In this week’s Cochrane history feature, the golden wedding anniversary for a couple, 25 years ago.
A feature story in the August 6th, 1999 issue of the Cochrane Times, tells how Jean and Russell Skidmore were surrounded by family and friends on the occasion of their 50th. anniversary.
The story lists the dozens of businesses the couple ran over the years, and the extensive community work they both did. That includes Russell helping to bring the telephone system to Brower.
“Marriage is a commitment,” Mrs.Skidmore said, “and you have to take the bad with the good, there are always better days ahead.”
