Kids to build fairy houses next week at Iroquois Falls Arts Council workshops

Some new, very tiny houses are coming to Iroquois Falls.

Two workshops for kids put on by the Iroquois Falls Arts Council next week will build fairy houses. Summer events coordinator Brigid Wilkes says Monday’s workshop is full, but there are still a few spaces for Thursday.

“The idea is to get them to use their imaginations and creativity to build tiny homes for fairies, using natural materials that can be found just around the area,” Wilkes outlines. “So it’s a fully hands-on experience for kids to learn about art, nature and storytelling all at once.”

“We’re going to try and put them up around town, so in some of the gardeny spots that the town has set up throughout the summer with their summer students. And we’re going to put some in front of where we’re going to set up the mural that the arts council’s been working on.”

Another option is for the young homebuilder to bring theirs home.
