IFSS celebrates the arts next week

Iroquois Falls Secondary School’s annual celebration of the arts is this coming Thursday, June 6th.

Teacher Barb Cornthwaite says “Evening of the Arts” highlights music, arts and drama.  The centrepiece is a play written, produced and directed by the school. “Go West, Young Sam” is about a young man who needs money to get married, so he goes out west to collect an inheritance.

“And when he gets there, he finds out that his money has been stolen,” Cornthwaite notes. “So then he ends up mixed up with a gang of bandits that he has to try to get his money back from. So lots of fun. We’ve got a lot of really fun characters.”

“We also have the art gallery that’s set up in the library. So there’s student work and there’s also some staff work that’s going to be in that.”
