Murder mystery dinner theatre comes to Iroquois Falls Secondary School April 25th

Take a high school drama class, add a murder mystery along the lines of Agatha Christie’s “Murder on the Orient Express”,  make it into a dinner theatre, and you have the latest production at Iroquois Falls Secondary School.

Drama teacher Barb Cornthwaite says it’s the first dinner theatre at IFSS since two days before Covid shut down the school in 2020.

“Last Train from Paris” was written at the school and incorporates audience participation.

“It’s done in four sections and, you know, the different courses between,” says Cornthwaite, “and people are trying to put together the clues as they get them, and just trying to figure out who actually did it.”

French cuisine prepared by the group is in line with the setting of the play. Cornthwaite says the cast and crew has sampled the entrée which is one of the four courses.

“It’s crèpe with chicken cordon bleu and a béchamel sauce with ham in it. It was very good. That was a really positive taste testing experience.”

The production takes place in the cafeteria on Thursday, April 25th. Cornthwaite says there might be a few tables of six still available. Contact the main office.
