As Iroquois Falls is looking towards bringing in other industries outside of forestry, Timmins are following suit as two mines are slated to close. Mayor Steve Black says Iroquois Falls could have started cutting services after the Resolute mill closed, but instead they are looking to diversify. The Hallnor Rail Park, Calabrian, and partners from China are all proof of that. Black says, like Iroquois Falls, his city has to look at diversification to build for the future.
