Park Pals recruiting volunteer help

The call is out for volunteers to step up to help at fundraisers staged by the Cochrane Park Pals.

Member Lisa Girard tells My Cochrane Now Dot Com that it’s raising $150,000 for Hillcrest Park. It will add equipment to the equipment installed there last year.

“Even though we’re big in numbers, anywhere between seven and nine members” Girard explains, “when we’re holding big fundraisers, we need just a few people once in a while to give us an hour or two of their time to give us relief during these events. So that’s what we’re putting the call out for at this point.”

Revamping Hillcrest Park in Cochrane last year with brand new, state of the art play equipment was a great thing. Now, Girard says Park Pals are raising money to buy play structures for a certain demographic.

“It lacks equipment for the real young ones, you know, from zero to four or five years of age. So that’s what we’re fundraising for.”

Details on volunteering and donating are on the Cochrane Park Pals Facebook page.  It’s also in the audio of our full interview below.
