Cochrane Park Pals are holding a giant community Christmas celebration next Sunday, December 17 from 2 to 5 pm at the Commando Pavilion. Park Pals spokesperson Lisa Girard says there will be plenty of things to do for the entire family.
“There will be lots of crafts and games for the kids, there’s live music for young and old, there’s a bake sale, a table that will be selling merchandise, as well as Santa will be showing up,” she said.
Spokesperson Frank Louvelle from the Cochrane Board of Trade says everyone is invited to this free event designed to spread a little Christmas cheer.
“At the same we are going to create a little awareness about our goal to raise some funds to improve our parks in town which will make it a more livable town and benefits everyone,” he said.
Cochrane Park Pals want town council add playground equipment for ages five and under to make Hilcrest Park more inclusive. Right now there’s equipment there for the older children but nothing for the younger ones.
