Timiskaming-Cochrane MPP John Vanthof, and NDP Correctional Cervices Critic Jennifer French will be making a visit to the Monteith jail today. French is touring a number of jails across Ontario to gain information on the current labor dispute between the union representing correctional workers and the province. Over 6-thousand correctional workers are set to walk off the job Sunday, which includes workers at the Monteith jail. It could have an effect on corrections for the entire Northeast.
