Watch out for water bombers when you’re out enjoying your boat on your favourite lake

As the battles against forest fires rage on,  the MNRF has an ask of boaters.

Fire advisor for the Northeast Region Shayne McCool wants you to move closer to shore when you see or hear a water bomber coming in for a fill-up.

“Those water bombers are being used to help firefighting activities, and if they’re not able to scoop water from the water source, they may be forced to go further away,” he says. “So we do ask that boaters move to the shoreline to allow the water bombers to perform their scoop safely, and there’ll be plenty of opportunity for photographs in that circumstance as well.”

If the bomber can’t use your lake, it will have to travel further away from the fire to get water.
