Arts group looking for new fundraising intern

The Iroquois Falls Arts Council is looking for a new fundraising intern.
A one-year provincial grant paid for the current one, but that money is running out and an extension isn’t allowed.
Arts Council chair Fran Côté says the successful applicant will look for foundations that support community arts. She’s also thankful to municipal council for its first time granting the organization some money.
“We sent a letter to town council and they discussed it and we made a little presentation and they unanimously decided that they would give us some funding,” she says. T
The fundraising intern’s duties include organizing local events, in addition to those already in place. “We want to have certain signature events that the Arts Council will be recognized, one of them being a Christmas concert. So we’ve got one coming up, Rosewood Avenue. We’re going to have a comedy show in September,” Côté says,  adding that the arts council is hoping that acting troupes travelling through the north will stop in Iroquois Falls for performances.
This is the second year for a Christmas concert, and second year that it’s headlined by Rosewood Avenue. You can find more information about the arts council and the one-year fundraising job on its website or Facebook page.
