More close calls at the intersection of 5th street and 14th avenue has left town officials asking drivers to be extra careful. Cochrane workers removed the east/west stop sign from the intersection last month in compliance with a new bylaw. The move has freed up traffic on 5th street, but has also resulted in several near-misses when north/south drivers forgot that opposing drivers no longer stop.
