Boil water advisory for Monteith

Tap water in the village of Monteith should be boiled before you drink it at least for the next couple days.

Iroquois Falls public works director Joel Cyr says all village residents should bring their water to a rolling boil for a minute or longer.

The Monteith Correctional Complex supplies the water from its treatment plant.  It’s doing maintenance on the system.  The work begins at 9:00am Tuesday, and is expected to be completed today.

Cyr says after that, the water needs two lab results in 24 hours, confirming that it’s not contaminated before the boil water advisory is lifted. Cyr that will be sometime Wednesday or Thursday.
