It was definitely a weird third period in the final exhibition game between Canada and Sweden ahead of the World Junior championship.  Canada led the Swedes 5-1 going into the third period before Sweden connected for five goals to tie it at six each.  Three of those Swedish goals literally went through the net.   Canada eventually won 7-6 and after the game, officials tried pushing the puck through the net to see what was up, but had no luck. The World Juniors begin Saturday with Canada facing the Americans in the opening game.

There were no games last night in the NHL as teams head home for Christmas and the NBA is also off.
