March Break activity program will be back

A new program to get kids away from their screens and active over the March Break in Cochrane went so well, it will be back.

Community services director Jason Boyer says the cooperative effort between the Early ON Centre, the public library, the Polar Bear Habitat and the Tim Horton Events Centre offered special activities including free swims and skates.

“We had good feedback from residents and participants,” says Boyer, “(and)  people form out of town that were coming because they saw the advertisement and saw the programming that we had going on.”

The effort could even be extended beyond March Break.

“We’re going to sit back down at the drawing board here with all of our divisions within our community here,” Boyer reports, “and we’re going to reevaluate this and where we might be able to use this in future programming efforts.”

Participants got stamps in their passports at every activity.  Prizes for the most active will be awarded soon.
