Coming up next month is the 61st Chimo Cochrane Winter Carnival.
The town’s director of community services, Jason Boyer says it runs from Friday, February 10th to Monday, February 20th – Family Day – featuring all the classic attractions.
“The demolition derby is coming back,” he says, “the bushwhacker challenge will be on again as well; the polar bear dip; the carnival games down on the lake with helicopter rides; the sliding hill…” The list goes on. It will be constantly updated on the carnival’s website and Facebook page.
Boyer says as with all big events like this, volunteer help is needed.
“Any volunteers can reach out to the department and express their interest,” he explains, “and we’ll try to pair them up with some events, because we’re always looking for volunteers to help run these things.”
