Unusual sight in a drive-thru in Cochrane

You expect cars ahead of you in a place like the A&W drive-thru in Cochrane.  But you don’t expect what Emily Lamarche had in front of her, late Thursday morning: a lynx.

She first spotted the beautiful cat in the parking lot and started taking photos, then video.

“I was just following behind him and then he was slowly walking through the drive-thru, looking back at me a few times,” she recalls. “Very calm, he wasn’t very scared.”

The burning question, of course, is whether the lynx did the pay it forward thing, paying for Lamarche’s order.

The video posted to Facebook has already gone vial, attracting more than 28,000 views by Friday morning.

It’s a really cool video and it’s a clear video and you can just see his big paws and his markings are really beautiful.”

Lamarche says she’s seen lynxes on the south and west highways in Cochrane but never so close to people.

One reason she posted the video is to prevent an encounter between a lynx and people, their kids and pets, should one of them wander right into town.
