Calendar of historic I.F. items still available

A hot item for this past Christmas in Iroquois Falls is still available to order.

It’s a calendar featuring pencil drawings of Iroquois Falls historical items by local artist Janet Reid.

She traces the idea for it back to last January, and a challenge to produce one drawing a day. Her first was a locomotive.

“When I did that, I thought ‘You know what? I should draw the Shay,’” Reid says. “So then I drew the Shay and posted it on my Facebook page and everybody went wild over it.”

Reid got help from Kim Price at the museum with photos she could draw from, and decided to donate $10.00 from the sale of every $40.00 calendar to the museum.

“From February ‘til probably June or July, I worked on the images,” she recounts. “And then after that it was getting everything all set up and ordering and started the first campaign for them in October.”

The museum has a few left, as does the artist.  She says, however, you can order one from her supplier via this link.
