INVESTIGATING ABORIGINAL MURDERS

The Critic for Indigenous Affairs is saying the federal government is on the right track with an inquiry into missing and murdered Aboriginal women. Charlie Angus, who is also the MP for Timmins-James Bay, says Canadians have been calling for this inquiry, and the federal government needs to step up to the plate.  Angus says he has spoken with the Indigenous Affairs Minister Carolyn Bennett about the inquiry. He says this isn’t a partisan issue, it’s about giving the commission the tools they need to get the facts.   At that point, Angus says then they can address the shortcomings in government policy.
