Entry deadline for I.F. Santa Claus Parade extended in attempt to break record

The big day is getting closer; and even before the BIG big day, there’s the Santa Claus Parade in Iroquois Falls.  It goes this Sunday at 6:00pm, organized by the Chamber of Commerce.

Chamber coordinator Brenda Keyes says the deadline to enter the parade with a float or some other activity is extended to Thursday at 1:00pm.

“Last year, we had in the end 28 floats and right now I’m at 27,” Keyes reports. “So hopefully we can get a few more people that are eager to sign up and make it the best parade yet.”

The Enterprise will judge the entrants for bragging rights in several categories.

“We have everything from non-profits to repair shops, MPP John Vanthof is in; Monteith Correctional Complex; Air Cadets are in; lots of stores down here in Iroquois Falls”, Keyes adds.

The parade route will be published on the Chamber’s Facebook page. That’s also where you can catch the livestream, if you can’t make it out to the parade.
